Dr. Chris Swanson
Dr. Chris Swanson enjoys all aspects of primary eye care. He specializes in ocular disease diagnosis and management as well as specialty contact lenses.
Dr. Swanson grew up in Southwest Oklahoma and has family ties in the area. The Swanson family’s Oklahoma ranching history dates back to 1907. After graduating high school in Hobart, Oklahoma, Dr. Swanson attended Oklahoma State University and graduated from Northeastern with a degree in Cell Biology in 1995. While attending the NSU College of Optometry, he received the award for “Excellence in the Treatment of Ocular Disease” and the “Presidents Award for Leadership.”
Dr. Swanson and his wife, Ashley, have three children: Jake, Josh, and Ava. Dr. Swanson enjoys serving in his local church, spending time at the lake, snow skiing, and helping out at the family farm.
Dr. Timothy Snider
Dr. Timothy Snider’s family was originally from Huron Co., Michigan. He grew up in an Air Force family attending schools in New York, Taiwan, Houston, San Antonio, Montgomery, Tokyo, and Rapid City.
Dr. Snider pursued his undergraduate studies in Music Education and Earth Sciences. He then pursued his graduate studies in Biblical Literature. In 1985, Dr. Snider was a member of the 3rd graduating class at Northeastern State University College of Optometry. He also completed a Residency at the NSU/VEF Eye Center in Oklahoma City. After 14 years as an associate with the Southwest Eye Institute, Dr. Snider then entered private practice serving Lawton as Central Mall Optical and 20/20 Optical before merging with Complete Eye Care in 2009.
Dr. Snider enjoys rebuilding Porsche cars and military Jeeps, as well as woodworking and guitar building.
Dr. Larry Silkey
Dr. Silkey is an Oklahoma native who grew up around the world as a "military brat." He attended high school in San Francisco, CA and received his B.S. degree in Math from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ where he met his bride, Lore, and was married following graduation. He served in the US Army Medical Service Corps as a Health Care Administrator for over seven years before deciding to leave the service and attend Optometry School at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK.
While at NSU, Dr. Silkey received the Outstanding Research Award for his study on electrodiagnosis of the eye. He also received the Barnes-Hinds Outstanding Contact Lens Clinician award for his class and was selected to the Gold Key Fraternity for outstanding leadership among Optometry students. This recognition is given to the top 10% of each class.
Upon graduation, Dr. Silkey served as an Associate Optometrist in Lawton, OK for six months before pursuing a private practice in Lawton. He maintained his private practice for 23 years during which he also served as a national speaker for Bausch & Lomb on contact lenses. He closed his office in 2009 and joined Complete Eye Care, allowing him to continue care to his patients while having the freedom to do what he loves the most; sharing the love of Jesus Christ around the world.
Dr. Silkey and his wife have three children and thirteen grandchildren and when he is not out of the country, they enjoy fellowshipping together at home.
Dr. Shane Claborn
Dr. Shane Claborn was raised in the Duncan area and graduated from Empire High School. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Northeastern State University. He then went on and received his Doctor of Optometry Degree from NSU College of Optometry. While there he worked on a research project to find the correlation between "Visual Related Problems and ADHD/ADD". Dr. Claborn was the recipient of the "CooperVision Excellence Award for Contact Lens Management." He has lectured to optometry students and optometrists on topics such as diabetes, retinal pathology, common eye problems associated with aging, and contact lenses. In 2008 Dr. Claborn completed a clinical externship at EyeCare Associates of South Tulsa for further training with emphasis in pre and post surgical care, ophthalmic lasers, retinal imaging technology, and ocular disease and management.
Dr. Claborn practices primary care optometry. He specializes in ocular disease including diabetes, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. He also co-manages patients' laser vision correction, cataract surgeries, lid surgeries, and other various ocular procedures. He is certified in and has performed anterior ophthalmic laser procedures such as YAG laser to treat capsule clouding after cataract surgery, glaucoma-related laser treatments, and minor in-office surgical procedures. Dr. Claborn provides vision care to all age groups. Dr. Claborn is passionate about caring for his patients and is dedicated to providing the best vision and eye care available. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians. Dr Claborn enjoys keeping up with the latest changes in eye care technology and helping his patients see their best.
Dr. Claborn is married to his high school sweetheart, Cortney, who also graduated from NSU. They have a 2 year old son named Connor and have another child on the way. Dr. Claborn's favorite thing is spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies include church, wakeboarding, and training horses.
